I use a LeafScan, 35mm to 4x5.

They don't make them anymore but are on ebay from around $750 to $1,000.

Over 5,000 dpi for 35mm, less DPI as you increase format size but still plenty to work with.

These were all done with the Leafscan:

Jim - the woodworking factory shot in the Monadnock portfolio is certainly far better than I can achieve on a flatbed. My Microtek E6 is pretty bad with a TMA adaptor., though fine for scanning prints. The Epson GT 7000 I use in the UK is rather better.

Which leads me to ask - is anyone scanning MF negs to acceptable quality using a flat-bed? If so, which?

Best
