[LRflex] OT: Cleaning Cobwebs in an M Hektor?

Hi Group, I have been blessed to receive a lovely 135mm Hektor M mount which
arrived in the mail today. The exterior of the lens is in very nice shape with
reasonable usage marks and lovely leather at the base. The lens surfaces are in
exceptional condition and the interior of the lens head seems to be equally
nice when back lit with a highpowered flashlight. Even better, from a few test
shots at close, medium, and far distances, it appears it and the rangefinder in
my M8 are closely matched.

However there are small cobwebs clinging to the matte black paint inside the
focusing tube. Heck, when I removed the Lens Head there were even tiny insect
carcasses hanging off it! :-D

My question is: how delicate is that matte black finish in there -and- what is
my best option for safely cleaning out the detrious hanging in there?

My instinct is to just gently slide a soft cloth back and forth through it a'la
cleaning the inside of a gun barrel, however the Hektors are notorious for
flaring and I don't want to make it extra notorious by adding in needless
interior lens reflections. :-)

Sincerely
Richard Ward
