Now, very one of us is different, and we all see things differently - so there
is no right or wrong.
That being said ... I wouldn't give you two cents for the shot in B&W. Your
mileage may very.

I like this one a lot David.
Not for his shirt, the shot might work even better in BW, but for the
sweetest bokeh you have given us to see in these activities, is it a
sport by the way?
Maybe you also shot longer? Or could get closer to the target. Anyway,
LOVE IT!
