Guy's (and ladies sorry Tina almost forgot about you) Allow me to throw my two cents worth. Why not go the same route that Leica did with the R8-9. Just build a back that would click into place on a Leica body. You might have to make a few different sizes to attach the electronics to but IE flex, R3, r4-7 and let it rip. It be alot easier than basically rebuilding a whole different body. ------ >-- Regards YXAndy ________________________________ From: Gary E <ge_crocus@xxxxxxxxx> To: Leica Reflex <leicareflex@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thu, January 20, 2011 4:40:38 AM Subject: [LRflex] Re: Nikon Step Down Mechanism Ponderings Gents, I propose you deal with the lens mount or internals as the way Leitax did; though their product only replaces the mount to allow for infinity focus. To butcher either one of the bodies to get the lens mount and aperture actuator to sync up might be too daunting of a task. If you combine what Leitax already did and add an additional gizmo for auto aperture, it might be easier to start there. Since the Nikon body already can assume a manual Ais/Ai lens attached, your goal should be to make the Leica lens appear to be so, but of course this means no going back to an R body after the modifications; though to be honest, if you can accomplish your goal I would sell off my remaining Leica bodies and go full on with Nikon FF DSLR bodies. Heck, I'd shoot them with my F2-F5... -Gary ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www.lrflex.furnfeather.net/ Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/ ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www.lrflex.furnfeather.net/ Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/
