Jim,

You will probably not find a more knowledgeable group
of Leica relex users than this one. I am using both
Nikon and Leica; only because I can borrow lenses in
Nikon that I do not have in Leica from my Nikon user
friends. I like my SL finder (slightly blue'ish
though; probably from age) but don't think it's better
than my F2. These are both my best mechanical reflex
cameras and probably will not part with them.

Leica glass imparts it's own characteristic on film,
but that of course is subjective to the eye of the
photographer. I happen to like it, so Leica is in my
photographic future and hopefully so will Leica.

Jim

Welcome. I still use Nikons alongside Leicas. While
multiple systems
are more expensive to maintain it is getting cheaper
these days. You
can get some very useful glass for Nikons and there
are numerous
excellent bodies. At the same time, there is some
outstanding Leica
glass e.g. 100mm and 180mm APOs. As to Leica bodies I
love the SL2;
better screen than the corresponding Nikons (F2,F3).
We are all
awaiting to see what, if anything, Leica has to offer
R users at
Photokina.

All the best, Chris B
