Two things come to mind:
The terrible Olympus management scandal and melt down a year or more ago with a
need to refocus the companies product lines.
The current state of the camera market, now decimated by the rise of the smart
phone among other things.
But you know all this.
You may not be aware of the rumors of the Nikon problems that threaten its
existence as a stand alone firm.
