Xavier,
Thank you.
That’s a nice story and the photos, old and new, really tell the tale.
Best regards,
Bill

Good days Flexers.
A while ago, on Fleabay, I have found two old battered postcard that made me
laugh.
Reason? Well it's the corner of my street 80 years ago.
I have scanned the postcard and cleaned and improved the yellowish tone.
And of course, this afternoon, I have taken the actual scenery to show what
happened since circa 1932...
In those days, people would swim in the Marne river:

And Today, taken with a fuji X Pro1 and its equivalent 35 Summicron:

And my favorite Portuguese pub was actually the "hotel de la plage" namely
the "Beach Inn" !

Today the place has changed, the "cabins" have become a "petanque game club".
But the Hotel is still upright, Mondego restaurant downstair and the building
is now a condominium. On the left, the same buildings are there, it was a
hotel too, now a long term renting place, the Pavillon Bleu.

I have used the services of Fujifim to print large prints on premium paper of
the old postcards and offered to the Gaffers. They were so pleased that I
had a few glasses of the famous Vinho Verde free. Two times the pleasure.
Let's hope they use it for decoration in the restaurant, to show the client
that Maisons Alfort had been in the 30s a strong reputation as a leisure
park.
Why I laughed? Well in August I usually stay at home, Paris is quiet, M.
Alfort feels like a Holiday resort. I usually say to my colleagues at work
that I stayed in Alfort Plage. But until now, I did not know how true it was.
Enjoy!
