Marc offered: >> About the BW, I can't but reiterate what I already wrote in response to Aram. About recognition, maybe it's a matter of taste. Is there an only way to practice, understand and enjoy photography ?< G'day Marc, Oh no, far more ways than one! I believe after 60 years as a professional I have merely touched the many beautiful venues of photography. If one isolates their mind to only one kind of photography or one method of shooting, we miss many venues of the craft. As much as I get off ragging "rock &Fern & non-breathing photos." :-) In many cases it's tongue-in-cheek! Quite frankly I admire some of this work when it illustrates the beauty within the subjects. The technique and time involved is amazing and I admire the talent and patients of those who do this style of photography. No it's not my "thing." However I have on occasion in film and digital shot a "rock & fern" with a couple not bad exposures. However it takes a great deal of patients, timing for just the right light etc. But I believe one of the highlights of learning and trying more "photo things" is one of many attributes of the digital era. We shoot in colour, then the question.. "I wonder what it would look like in B&W?" Click!... It becomes B&W! We immediately learn whether it would be good, bad or ugly. Such a simple, wonderful opportunity of learning for all of us. And that's an infinitesimal point of learning via digital photography. But only one way to learn photography? Never! It's such a vast subject with so much to learn and enjoy, we never stop learning. I'm first inline to admit with all my years I've only scratched the surface, but always open to learn. ted No virus found in this incoming message.
