When you change the focus you are only moving the forward part of the bellows, so the camera is not moving. It is just like turning the focus ring on a non/short mount lens, like perhaps the 100 APO.

It's going to be tough, George, as I'm attempting this with a bellows mount,
100mm/f4 lens.  Changing the focus requires moving the bellows, and thus
changing the distance.  Hmmmm..

You want to keep the plane of focus and subject distance constant. When
you keep bellows constant while moving the camera you're changing the
size of the subject at every move.

you, since by moving the camera the image magnification remains the
same.  So, go ahead and try it by tweaking the focus in minute amounts.
