Just before I left, I mentioned some of the tricks & tips to photograph the
somewhat rare transit of Mercury across the sun.
From the wild conversations on the list, in my absence, I suspect nobody
bothered to try.
I took my solar filter to Ottawa, along with my 75~300 zoom (not a great lens
but very light & small & ideal for travel).
But this was the best I could do.

The lawn of our Parliament was full of telescopes, BIG binoculars, etc., but
nobody got a good view. As is always the way, the next days were warm and
sunny! [sigh]
Did anybody else even attempt it? And if so, what results did you get?
Enquiring minds want to know!
David.
