What a fun set of images, Peter! My favorite is 49638175743 - Beads or
Christmas ornaments? When I scrolled into that one I laughed out loud. I’m
happy for y’all to have enjoyed the event so much.
There’s a wonderful variety of how communities on the upper Gulf Coast and deep
into Louisiana celebrate the Carnival season. I’m sure that Sonny has an
amazing collection of Carnival images from throughout his life in New Orleans
and North Louisiana. I understand that in the past, and perhaps still, the
folks in some of the Mobile AL parades toss individual Moon Pie cakes rather
than beads. Then there’s the Krewe of Zulu in New Orleans organized by the Zulu
Social Assistance and Pleasure Club who have special golden coconuts that are
“tossed” into the crowds. You have to love the variety and humor of everyone
and everything! :)
Thanks for the smiles, this morning!
Best regards,
Peter S.

Our friends in Houston took us to a Mardis Gras celebration in Galveston,
Texas. While I've seen pictures from New Orleans, I'd never experienced
Mardis Gras in person. It was foggy, but the festivities shone through the
flat lighting. I haven't had so much fun in ages.
