Hi- Adding to what David and Elliot have written: This note was posted in the Digital Forum of the Leica Camera Users Forum early today: "Leica M8 Issues Dear Friends of Leica, Customer feedback to us following the start of shipment of the LEICA M8 points to a performance under certain conditions that does not meet the expectations in the Leica brand. Our technical and engineering teams have isolated the source of these concerns and have identified definitive solutions. Over the next two weeks we will communicate a plan to further assure you of your investment in the LEICA M8. We hope for your understanding and support. Please accept that I will not be able to answer all messages in the forum personally. Kind regards Leica Camera AG Stefan Daniel Product Management" Leica has gotten "the message." From other reports on the web, it seems that the banding, purple and IR anomalies occur only under low light conditions, when photographing certain colors, and using some lenses, so they are confined to a specific photographic regime and do not appear universally when using the M8. FYI, I have taken about 1400 frames since I got my DMR nine months I ago and I have never noticed any of these anomalies, and I don't have an M8, so I can't add anything more. Perhaps (tongue in cheek) I should stop taking so many daylight and flash pictures!
