one that gets stuck at about 28mm , is sent back for repair, gets lost on the way (infamous Solms/Wetzlar/Osaka triangle), and is finally replaced together with the camera - happened to me in septembre 2007, and to Xavier this spring (see archives) ...

hope this helps :-(

there is not much cost for leica to stay in 4/3rds system and their
leica branded lenses are selling well, always out of stock.

BUT so fragile ... many reports now of blocked 14-50 (mine first, others on
the LUF, on the pana lists, and last one I've heard of was Xavier's ..

but i do think their own internal effort would be either a full frame or
1.33,

for me to buy one the following needs to be true

1) a split focusing screen
2) same mount
3) no stopping down with the current R lenses

For some weeks now, I have been hearing rumours that Leica will abandon the
4/3rds format for their dSLRs. This does not make sense to me, as the
Digilux cameras are made by Panasonic, and they are firmly in the 4/3rds
camp, being closely aligned with Olympus.

I think this rumour comes from the fact that the coming R10 will not be
4/3rds, but then nobody ever thought it would be. The only question is
whether the R10 will be a full frame, or a 1.33 crop factor, like the M8.

There is a new interview with Andreas Kaufmann, which seems to confirm what
we already suspect - that the R10 will have AF lenses, and that it will not
be 4/3rds format. As for the rest, well, read it for yourself, and draw your
own conclusions...
