And I could not have said it better. As a boy in Florida, I was taught that if you hear a rattlesnake, just stand perfectly still and wait. The snake is more afraid you than you are of it, so relax and give it plenty of space and time to go about its business. Worked every time for me and seems to apply to bears as well.
