Thanks, Aram. I’ll go search out those sites that you mentioned.
Best regards,

I’ll chime in, though. When Tina, of the LUG, got here Monochrome (Not sure
which one) she send me some full RAW files to play with and I was amazed at
the detail and quality. The tonal range was almost like HDR, so you had to
play with it a bit to make it look good, but from what she has said, it makes
a much better B&W that converting from a color image. That is my input on
this from playing around with some images and hearsay from Tina. I know
there are some sites on the web where they do reviews and post full size RAW
and JPEG files that you could download and play with if you wanted to.

Subject: [LRflex] Is There A Significant Visual Difference Between B&W Images
Shot Natively In Camera vs. Those Created In Software?
Good morning to everyone. My memory of the various cameras that members use
here on the site only brings up Peter K. as using a Monochrome body, so
unless there’s anyone else out there with experience with a monochrome I
guess my question is for Peter; but in the abstract it’d be good to hear from
anyone regarding image file manipulation.
An email from the marketing folks at Leica this morning prompts my question.

They are introducing the M10 Monochrome with a 40MP Sensor for taking
eclusively Black & White images. Is there a significant visual difference in
the files generated by a Leica Monochrome body as opposed to taking a color
file and flipping it to B&W in a photo-editing program?
Best regards,
Peter S.
