Thanks Xavier and David for setting up this new server, it was getting
hard to find the content in the Topica advertising, and at least so far,

this server doesn't seem to want to drop an advertising bomb on you
every 3rd or 4th message a la Yahoo groups.

David encouraged us all to introduce ourselves and I see the flurry this

morning, I guess I should de-lurk as well.

Hello, my name is Noel, and am a Leicaholic. I have gone without buying
a Leica piece for 5 months.

Ooops, wrong group, that is the AA introduction.

My shooting tastes run a wide gamut, and that is reflected in my choice
of Leica gear. I have an old IIIa screw mount, and a number of lenses
for it. I started with Leica Acquisition Syndrome with this one. Since
then I added a M4-2, and a M3 double stroke to the fleet, and a few
lenses in bayonet. Adapters allow me to use some of the older glass on a

little easier system.
About 3 years ago I bought a.R3 and winder, and picked up a Summicron 50

for it. About the same time an interest in wider angle shooting hit, so
making the move to a SLR was a good choice. I traded a M mount 28 I
wasn't using (I couldn't envision what was getting put on the film) for
a R4 with winder and a 90 and 135. I added a selection of Tamron lenses
with R adapters, and use the 17 and 24 a lot. Aram (are you signed up
here yet?) sold me a Macro Elmar R 100, which has rapidly become one of
my favorite lenses in the field. A Leitz 28 has pretty much replaced the

Tamron 24 in use, but the 17 still gets used regularly. I finally added
a R6 (thank you David Y!) and almost never use the R4 or R3 any more.
(Offers gratefully accepted)

I like to shoot scenics, old farms and barns, derleict vehicles and
machinery. I don't do a lot of people photography, but when I do I am
usually pleased with the results.

I live in Calgary, with my proxomity to the Rockies, many a Leica User
Group shooter has travelled through here, and I have met a number of
them, getting together to shoot, both film, and the bull. Drop me a note

if you are heading my way, it would be great to meet.
