>De: =22Nicolas=22 <nicolas=40royalsupra.eu> >in case 4/3 was used for its Pro line (currently the R system) ? Sorry Nicolas, = Leica no longer has a pro SLR line to sell - the DMR has been discontinued= - the Dig3 is in no way a camera for pros in spite of its proven qualitie= s. which pros shot film? This, will make it a 2 years' gap if the R10 is really out in Nov 2008, wh= ich might answer Douglas's (Sharp) remark on reviving a =22dead line or br= and. quote: Would they go for an R10 if they can use their lenses on the Oly Pr= o-model you told us about? Depends on what Leica has to offer then ... I might, if I haven't sold all= my stuff to go Nikon as many people on other Leica lists have - even if t= hey've kept their Ms and/or bought an M8. A warning : I never said the 4/3 format should/would/will be used on the R= 10 and is the panacea. = It simply makes sense to me that they've spent money knowingly on developi= ng it and it would be quite consistent to use this investment as a platfro= m to get higher, faster. = I guess sensors will definitely have improved by 2008 and will continue to= do so for later Rs ( for instance think today that some brand gets 14mpix= els in three layers with the same sensor size), and I think that Leica wou= ld never be developing their new line in 4/3 mount if thy where not trying= to gather experience from it (with backing from Oly and Pana BTW). I was just trying to connect information and get a coherent view of what t= hey are after, taking their past and present know-how, current and potenti= al customer bases into account, and crossing my fingers that I will some d= ay have the same feeling for a DSLR as I had with my first Leica - not yet= available whatever the brand I've looked at so far.
