G'Mornin' Bill!
Those "Irish looking socks" are elastic, and give additional support to the
ankles of the horses. Very popular with those who's horses do sudden braking
or quick turns ... such as barrel racers, ropers, etc.
David.
Hi David,------
A nice image that tells the story without words.
What's the story behind the Irish-looking socks the horse is wearing?
Is it a new equus fashion statement?

High School Rodeo's are the "proving grounds", for those who think
they might want to pursue a part-time, or even full-time, career in
Rodeo. It's a place to hone your skills and meet like minded people.
Calf roping is an essential part of rodeo life. But to accomplish it
at speed means dismounting your horse in a hurry.
This young lady seems to have mastered the art....

Enjoy!
