  More exactly, like a nice barrel of Gueuze...  ;-)

  It's when a rectangle (for example a window, or, in your case, a bookcase) 
instead of being perfectly rectangular, has sides bending outwards (like a 
barrel).
  I asked about the lens, because that tends to be a pretty un-Leica-like 
characteristic.

  In Photoshop (CS series on...) you call the distortion correction under:
  Filter - Distort - Lens Correction
  You will see the "Remove distortion" slider... Have fun!  :-)
