Many portraits that I've seen, work wonderfully in B&W. But, they need to be
close, where the character in the face is the main point of the photo. Sorry,
but your fabric merchant is just lifeless without the colour. After all, it is
the fabric, not the man, that makes the image.
As for your "not-so-easy-rider", I have to agree with your wonderment. If the
coronavirus hits any such areas, it will run wild. Combine that with the lower
level of health care in Africa (among many places) and the problem becomes
obvious. :-(
