A very strange city indeed.
The ideal place to spend holidays and no money I presume ;-)

Good Morning, Aram!
Did you get Hyderized? Or is the inn closed now?
Nope. Didn't get "Hyderized".
I drank far too much Everclear when I lived in Whitehorse, Yukon, back in the
mid 1960's. I don't want to consume that stuff, ever again!
I don't think Everclear is legal anywhere in Canada, but it was readily
available, having been smuggled in from Alaska.
(For those of you not familiar with Everclear, it's in the Guinness Book of
Records as "The most alcoholic drink in the world". Many states have banned
the stuff. In some states, like Pennsylvania, you can only buy it if you can
prove, beforehand, that you're not going to drink it! 'Nuff said.)
As for the Glacier Inn... I gathered from the Canadian Customs officer that
it still operates, for she wondered if we'd bought any liquor in Hyder. But
we didn't manage to find the place. OTOH, their Facebook page notes "May be
permanently closed" and offers no address or phone number for the place. .
At this point, we're planning on returning to Stewart/Hyder for a longer
stay, next summer. I'll make a concerted effort to find the place, then.
Stay tuned.
David.
