Bill Abbott asked about an "undocumented feature" in the list.
For the record, attachments should be stripped by Freelists...
however, in the case of one recent post, this did not happen.
However, please note that sending photos, or attachments of any kind,
to the LRflex list, is not permitted. There are two main reasons for this...
The first is the obvious one, that viruses can be spread this
way. The second is actually the more important one.
This is a world-wide list, with folks in 22+ countries. Many are on
dial-up and living in countries where they must pay for both their
internet access and local phone lines by the minute. In past, we've
had members in Mongolia and Nepal, receiving their email via
sat-phone (very expensive!). Including images with your posts forces
them to pay to download photos they may not wish to view.
Please post your photos on any web-site you like (there are a number
of free or low-cost choices) and send only the link to where they can
be seen, to the list. In this way, members may download them or not,
as they wish.
