Very nice, David. I particularly enjoyed the shot of Hoodoo with Kamloops Lake
stretching out in the back ground. Thanks.

Best regards,
Peter S.

Hoodoos are spires of easily eroded rock that have a more weather resistant
top. They are kind of eerie, so they're called "hoodoos" and also have other
names, from "fairy chimneys" to "goblins."  The really strange ones end up
with heavy rocks balancing precariously atop the spires.

They occur in many places, but are not exactly common, either.

Despite living here for some 14 years now, I did not realize we had a hoodoo
- and with a balancing rock atop it - until yesterday.  (Apparently, there
are others!)

Naturally, today we had to go and find it.  Finding the trail, it was not so
easy.  Walking the winding deer trail, through scrub desert (with warning
signs about rattle snakes), in 29 degree (84F for our American cousins) ...
was less so.

Here is the wide angle view of Kamloops Lake with the hoodoo near the center
bottom.
