on my desktop so I don't risk saving over the camera original.
It is like working with the original jpeg as you are duplicating.
There's a minor amount of loss the first time you save. It starts
mounting up fast on the second and third save, however.

Other than that, I don't see why a jpeg should "degrade" at all. Certainly,
ones I have from 2005 (when I first started with digital) are just fine.

Good morning to you all. Could I please ask for advice concerning the------
use of JPEG files for archiving images? For those of you who work
predominately with JPEGs have you noted an obvious degradation of image
quality with repeated opening and viewing of the files? I am wondering
how many times can a "lossy" file, such as JPEG, be opened and viewed
before the file starts to show signs of the image degrading?
