Hi to everyone. Say, has anyone ever used an IR filter on their digital camera?
If you have, were you pleased with the results? I’m trying to work out in my
head how a couple of things would be managed while using an IR filter, and I
can’t quite get an understanding how the element of AF would function and what
the resultant image would look like compared to IR film.
What prompted the questions was a posting on eBay that I saw from this morning
in the Nikon section with a couple of D200 that had been converted by a firm in
the Los Angeles area to a sensor that was dedicted exclusively to IR. Seeing
those listings brought to mind also the question of lens calibration. In IR
photography, either in digital or analog media, do the lens also have to undergo
some sort of caliberation?
Can a sophisticated photo editing program turn a normal color image into one
that mimics an IR image by manipulating any of the color channels?
Thanks.
Best regards,
