As I said before, not my level of expertice, in fact, one of my fears.
I have over the year had to wander in to K-3 classrooms to show some
things, but it was terrifying. However, perhaps a few suggestions. I
don't think you are going to be able to teach "photography" per se. I
think your job might be just to show them how to work the device well
enough to get some sort of results, and then leave it up to them and
their little creative and inquisative minds, which they have in spades.
Maybe some basics of how it works, then some activities. Have them take
a picture of the person next to them as they show their funniest face,
then a serious face, then a smile, then a sad face, etc. Wander around
with them to help those who cannot get the hang of the hardware itself
for some personalized instruction, but I'll bet they catch on faster
than any adult. Then have them wander around the classroom and take
pictures of the three most interesting things they can find. If the
ipads are connected to a network projector, maybe they could then show
the rest of the kids after each assignment. If not, maybe just hold
them up so everyone can see. Make it fun. If they all can get the
hang of the mechanics, they are ready to be unleashed on the
unsuspecting population of Logan Lake.
