Hello Gang. It would be nice to have a SMALL SLR that accomodates the lens we just love. I would like to keep my R7 and I would be delighted to have another body, Digital that accomodate my lenses. And more to the point, given the relative success of the EPSON R-D1, if a similar product in the R system comes into the market, I'll be in the rank to pre-order it. I have called it the SL2-D as a reference to the clever SL2. The specification package of the RD1 is rather good. It is "only" 5 MP but it proves sufficient if it can record the "Leica Glass feel". 6 or 7 MP, big pixels would be cherry on a cake. But it does not need to record more than a film of 400ISO Fuji in format 135. See I'm not that greedy :) Beside, there are lots and lots of R lenses settled in the dust on the dealers shelves, at affordable prices With a crop factor of 1.5, a 24mm becomes a 36, a 28 becomes a 42mm (YES!, love the 40mm), a 50 becomes a 75 (unusual in SLR but why not, close to 80 though), etc. If ever a product like this comes to the market, we can dream to place a LRFLEX list bulk order of 20 or 30 and get a discounted price :)) Sigh, I know, I am a dreamer.... Just got another idea : the Seiko step motors as seen on the RD1 could be installed on the left side, next to the penta prism, replacing the ISO wheel and the rewind mechanism. Time for my Pills, Nurse, please!!! Regards. --------------------------------- Xavier F.
