After many years, I have broken down and purchased the Pana-Leica 100-400
zoom. Thus, I no longer have a requirement for my Telyt nor the Leitz 2x
Extender-R.
When I bought the lens, I had it cleaned and lubricated ... the "trombone"
focusing is smooth as silk and requires only a light touch. The focus-lock
works perfectly.
The diaphragm is oil free and works smoothly. The lens is bright, clear,
with no separation, no fungus, no haze. All as you'd expect from a Leitz
product!
Physical appearance would be 8.5 out of 10. As befits a nearly 50 year old
lens (made in 1970) it has a few marks, especially on the leading edge of the
built-in lens hood. I have found one dent - in the lens hood, smaller than
5mm in diameter and less than 1 mm deep. But, nothing which affects
performance.
What you get:
The Telyt 400/6.8 with original fitted box, original shoulder stock, original
lens caps (for the lens - no caps for the hollow tube, but then a hollow tube
does not need them!)
The Leitz 2x Extender-R including original Leica body & rear caps. (No box.
Sorry!)
Fotga Leica R to mFT (micro-Four Thirds) mount adapter. It is (always was) a
little loose, rotationally, as the pin is smaller than the pin-slot in the
lens. But infinity focus is perfect, with no play. (No caps, no box with
the adapter.)
Can easily be adapted to Canon, Fuji X, Sony & more with suitable, low cost
adapters.
Price is US $599 for all. Shipping with Canada is Free. Shipping to the USA
is $30. Payment accepted by PayPal.
Any duty charged by the US Govt, is the responsibility of the buyer. However,
US duty under HTS 9002.11.9000 is 2.3%, so it is most likely that duty will
be small enough that it is not worth collecting and will arrive duty free.
However, I cannot guarantee this.
