Focus stacking does not work on such an intricate subject with that much
depth. When you focus deeper, the closer objects get larger as they are out
of focus, and they mask the deeper sharper subjects, so there will be gaps
in the deeper ones. Does that make sense? Circles of confusion. At least
that is my experience.

G'Mornin' Sonny!
As Aram said, you picked the perfect focus point. It does make me wonder
what it might have looked like if Aram had used his focus stacking so that
all the flower was sharp, with the lovely, out of focus background that you
have.
Doesn't matter. You've got a beautifully balanced shot!
Oh, and, um, if you have the chance, wish Adrene a very Happy 90th, for me
and, I'm sure, for us all!
David.
I------
don't remember the spider lily from when I was a kid around here, but
when I moved back to Natchitoches in 1991, they were everywhere. This
one is smack in the middle of Adrene's back garden. By the way, her
family is throwing her a birthday party this week! Happy 90th Birthday
Adrene!
