HI! It's good to be home! This is not a shot I'm proud of... I focused a wee bit forward of the lead eye. This shot was developed with SilkyPix 2.0.14.1 (latest version) and saved as a .tif file. Settings were "a little vivid" colour, "a little strong" contrast and "average" sharpness. The camera's AWB was used. (My defaults.) Exposure was accidentally set at .2 stop too light. (My error. I was "playing" and neglected to set it to 0, afterwards. Sorry.) This file was then converted to .jpg files in PS7, but no other corrections were made in PS. The .tif file was then converted to a .jpg (80% quality) in full size, as well as a .jpg file in 400x600 size @ 100 dpi. I'm sure I could easily make this shot look much more appealing, but that was not the idea. I wanted to show what comes from the camera The small .jpg file is seen at http://www3.telus.net/~telyt (click on Featured Photo). CAUTION: the link on this page, to the full size file should only be used if you have high speed internet. It is 12mb in size and will cause problems for those on dial-up. However, there is also a link to another .jpg, another 400x600 section of the full sized shot, showing the detail in the eyelashes of the slightly OOF lead eye. Ideal for dial-up users. The DM-R is not without it's problems, but the fine detail in the shots I've developed so far is simply incredible, compared with the Canon 20D. A longer report will follow, in a few days, when I have more time. But, I thought some of you might find this interesting. Comments? Cheers! -- David Young, Logan Lake, BC CANADA.
