Nick, this is a Series VII filter lens. E55 didn't start until after 3-cam. You can get a 54mm-to-55mm step-up ring if you don't want to use Series filters. The sideways 55 next to the "m" is the deviation of the true focal length from the nominal 135mm. I think this means 140.5mm. Deviation like this is normal but most manufacturers don't tell you about it.
