I haven't seen what the prints look like, but the book is wonderful and a must have and enjoy it all - photographs, text and print..
For those who might still be hesitant about it, please trust me.
Sorry for my insistance if this is a repeat, but I mean it.

We have both Doug's book and one of his prints... both are excellent. Highly recommended!

If you like b&w work, with a wry sense of humour, I can also recommend Earthlings, by Richard Kalvar. Richard is a Magnum photographer, who lives in Paris. Earthlings is a 30 year collection of his "spare time" work, and is offered without a commentary. We had the pleasure of hearing a talk, by Richard, 16 months, or so, ago, at the LHSA convention in Wetzlar. He's an amusing guy, but speaks first and then, like his book, he shows his photos without commentary. His theory is that if you have to explain a shot, or give it a caption, then the photo is not good enough. Each one must be able to stand on its own. Each of his, does.

Of course, if you buy Doug's book, you're "buying locally" . Always a good thing!

Cheers!
