Thanks to all, I think the consensus is that it is an exposure problem at time of taking the shot and perhaps the scanner trying to compensate. Looks like I have to learn more about how to expose correctly and not rely too heavily on auto modes while understanding the onboard metering limitations .. I am glad it is not the camera itself. So much to learn and so little time. Nice to receive swift and considered responses. One more question and I know this is perhaps not the right forum however I wonder if anyone has experience with Leica M cameras. I have used fixed lens rangefinders before and enjoy the difference. I am seriously considering expanding my Leica gear to include an M camera and thinking about the M5. Any caveats ... opinions appreciated. I know this is a controversial M however there are reasons I am attracted to this particular Leica. Thanks again ... time to rethink how I shoot with the R7.
