Hi Peter,
I agree with you that the M10 image colour is very pleasing. I would judge
Leica’s noise suppression at high ISOs to be about on par with Nikon’s in
their D700 - which was introduced in 2008. I had two D700’s at one time and it
was (is) one of my favourite digital cameras so I hope I give the impression
that I am praising rather than damning Leica but it is 12 years later and I
wold hope that Leica could do better. Still at normal light levels and with
high speed lenses in low light situations the Leica can deliver.
Warm Regards,
Howard

Nicely captured, Howard. While looking at the story-time skyping image I went
back and looked at your comparison shots of Esther reading during the recent
power cut. I appreciate what you said about the noise level with the Z7 being
better; but, the overall color and “feel” of the M10 image just appeals more to
my eye. It’s totally subjective on my part, obviously, but if you kept a light
touch while processing both images I vote for the Leica image as being the
warmer and more natural capture.
Best of luck and health to you and your family, and to everyone here on the
List.
Best regards,
Peter S.
