Thanks, Dave. This should provide bedtime reading for Leicaphiles, for quite a
while.

Subject: [LRflex] Erwin Puts & other stories...

All:

I've been away for the list for the last while...will try to catch up, soon.

In early February, there was some discussion on the list, about Erwin
Puts' Leica Lens Compendium being made of unobtanium.... Then, Bill
Abbott sent me a copy of a version he had, mentioning that he was
unsure about copyright. (Thanks, Bill!)

So, I wrote Erwin, asking his permission to repost it on my website,
along side the numerous Leica instruction books I have, or have links
to. He said "yes", and even sent me the latest version, which, as he
says, "is updated to include some recent lenses introduced till 2005."

Those interested can download the PDF, by going to my personal pages:

www.main.furnfeather.net and clicking on Leica Instruction Book, on
the left. You'll then find it, on the right, towards the bottom,
next to the reddish/orange "NEW!".

It will remain on my site until such time as there is a newer
version, which Erwin says is due out "soon". At that time, I hope to
post that one, instead.

Please note that this PDF version has no illustrations, but is 200+
pages long and 1.06mb in size. On dial up, it will take a *very* long time!

Our own Dr. Ted is going to give an afternoon presentation at
Thompson Rivers University, in Kamloops, BC, this coming March
27th. This may be of interest to Dave and/or Fred, as the are within
driving distance of Kamloops. If anyone else will be in the area,
please join us!
