In my case I started shooting with Nikon gear (a black F with an 85
1.8 & 28 3.5) in 1971 but the rig was stolen in 1972 (on my way to my
first photo gig in Canada.). I bought an M4 with a 35 & 90 to
replace the Nikon gear. They were stolen in '73...
Last month I bought another black Nikon (this time with an FTn
finder). It came with a 50 1.4 (which produces great images, in my
short experience) and I quickly got another 85. The ergonomics of
the F w/85 1.8 felt immediately familiar after a 35 year absence...
