David,
Doug persists in “getting it right,” about what is important about cameras,
i.e., first comes the the lens, then the sensor and its holder, and then the
utility of the controls used in actual shooting.
Everything else is secondary. Bells and whistles don’t count.
I like the thinking behind that.

As Andy said, "the man is a master". I thought Doug's review was both
thorough and fair.
Two things struck me, in his review. The first was his simple statement

Philippe said, the other day, that I was happy with my Olympus. Indeed, I
am, and one of the the main reasons is the ability of the EVF to show
exposure compensation ... as Doug says, it acts as a visible exposure meter.
The other, if any recall my rant from the other day, was about price and
service, was this...
"Not to mention being able to say "oh shucks" and head over to eBay if I drop
the camera in the ocean instead of panicking about the expense of repairs and
the months of downtime as I do when my beloved Leica 280mm f/4 APO develops a
sticky aperture."
It's that very good, but incredibly slow (and fantastically expensive) repair
service that will keep me from buying another Leica, no matter how good.
Which is a pity, as I love the precision with which Leica's are built. They
really do have a "feel" all of their own. Still, the Oly ( or Sony, or
Pentax or whatever) leaves a lot more, as Doug says, "in my wallet" while
yielding result which are so close, that few clients can tell any difference.
