Steve: When last I looked, the PanaLeica equivalent had been reduced to $ 1,799.00 at Best Buy. I'm thinking now (2 months and slow sales) later, there may be an even better price. Some Circit City and CompUSA's were also carrying the Panasonic - depends on the demographics of the store locations. Might be worth reviewing. As of this writing, the only differences I can tell between Leica and Panasonic are: 1. 1 year Panny, 3 year Leica warranty 2. Panny comes with ArcSoft, Leica comes with Photoshop Elements (which I find has more than enough stuff to suit me). 3. Leica supposedly has firmware that creates a "Leica Look". Beats me; I can't see it. And of course you can use Oly digital lenses on the Panny, and Leica Digilux on the Panny. And Big Leica R glass on the both with an adaptor. Would I rather have the Digilux instead of the Panny? Yup. But someone has to prove to me that the Leica is better. Right now, the "Leica Look" firmware strikes me as sort of an Urban Legend started by some dude in Solms. Do I think both cameras take really great images? Yup. Do I see value in the price difference? Not yet. Just a thought. Regards, Bob On Jul 7, 2007, at 18:32, Dr. Elliot Puritz wrote: Hi Steve: Where would you get the camera tax free. I received the same offer. How much is the adaptor for the rest of our R lenses? With the adaptor, are all of the features of the R lenses available including auto focus with the Digilux 3?
