Hi ! A DMR is simply a digital back for Leica R8-R9 with a factor of 1.3 . means your 28 mm wide angle becomes 37 mm. Interesting what you tell me about your Olympus E3, that in some way it handles like a R8/9 -DMR I was thinking of a DMR for a long time, but suppose it is not a good idea buying one. I wonder if it can compete with todays standards of digital image quality. I think I know the answer.......but love to hear something else I have no expierence with the DMR at all, so mayby tricky to buy one Perhaps better to stick with film using a R ?? Hi Herman, Welcome to "the Zoo"! You'll find us a friendly group, some 300+ strong, with a lot of expertise to share, should you ask. I very much enjoyed looking through your site... and loved "Batman on the Beach"! I can understand your unhappiness with using the Canon -particularly when using Leica R glass via adapters. Personally, I switched my Canon for an Olympus E3. Some don't care for the smaller sensor (higher crop factor, etc.), but I have found it to be excellent, and it handles very much like the R8/DMR combination. I look forward to hearing more from you, and seeing more of your work! Enjoy your R5 - I loved mine! Cheers! David (Zoo-keeper) Young.
