If that is what it was for, it would not have a f-stop ring. No, it is designed so wide open has a minimal hit, unlike other brands, but it was designed to give you the option of shooting at any f-stop you need to give you the results you want in your final product.
I will agree with Akhil, but am not quite ready to jump ship. However, if I were, for my needs Nikon would be my choice. If I needed a vast selection of lenses and especially tele, it might be a different story, but after using my father-in-law's D300, I think Nikon has it right as far as getting colors and textures right. People don't look like plastic, noise is well controlled, and colors are wonderful.
However, I have not used the 7D or the 5D Mark 2. Aram -------------------------------------------------- From: "Philippe Amard" <philippe.amard@xxxxxx> Sent: Monday, November 16, 2009 12:08 PM To: <leicareflex@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [LRflex] Re: C***n or N***n?
Shoot wide open, that's what Leica glass is for, is it not? ;-) Best Phx a aa wrote:Hello Everyone, Bearing in mind the demise of the R system, and the recent announcement of CZ primes (with licenced EOS, and now Nikon ROMs) for the EOS and Nikon mounts leads me to ask this list a hypothetical question: If you had to jump would you opt for Canon or Nikon? FWIW, I am very close to selling off my R bodies and lenses, and no, the third -party flange/adapter solutions for R lenses do not work for me. I do not want to go back to the 1950's when Alpas, Exaktas and Praktinas with stop down lenses were state-of-the-art SLRs.
