There is a whole new year ahead of us!
Most of us are here, because we want to be better photographers. But the
best way to become a better photographer is to take pictures. Even better,
take 'em and post 'em where we can see 'em!
When I meet with listers on my travels, I often hear that the reason that
many don't post their images is that they don't think they are "good enough"
Poppycock!
But putting your images "out there", for all to see, will get you some
feedback that can help you improve ... much faster than you can by simply
looking at other's shots and reading the feedback they get.
If you do manage to post a shot that's not "up to par", you won't get
lambasted... though you may hear an unearthly silence! I've posted a few of
those!
Can't get out? Post some of your macro work or table top photography. Your
imagination is your only limit!
So challenge yourself to take a photo a month, a photo a week, or most
ambitiously, a photo a day, that is good enough to show.
There are 300 of us on this list, yet fewer than 20 post photos. If we each
post one photo a month, there will be more photos shown that we an imagine.
The variety of subjects will be amazing, for we all see the world
differently. Not only will we have more to read about that's interesting,
but we will ALL become better photographers!
You can post on your own web-site (as I do), on Flickr (as Peter Klein does)
or on the LUG Gallery (http://gallery.leica-users.org/main.php) or any other
public hosting site. Just post the link where we can find your photo, and
sit back.
BTW: The reason we don't post photo directly to the list is that it is a
world-wide list, and we have some members who still use dial-up, and some who
have to pay for their internet access by the minute. Not everyone has
high-speed internet. Thus, doing it our way mans that all who want to see
your photos can click on the link, while those who don't are not forced to.
Help us help you. Post one of your better shots!
And make it a better 2016 for us all!
