Thanks, David. It does indeed answer the question.  :)

Best regards,
Peter S.

Thank you Peter.  As you have pointed out, rodeos are "target rich"
environments.  I like them because Henri Cartier Bresson told us to catch the
peak of the action ... "the decisive moment" as he called it.

Rodeos are not only great fun and inexpensive entertainment (at Mt. Currie,
those over 65 get in free. For others, it is just $15 for 4 hours of rodeo,
which compared to, say, a movie, is still a good deal!).

They are also great places to practice our craft, for every few minutes there
is another bronc or bull ride, or roping or barrel race or ...  well, you get
the idea. And every event is another chance to capture that "decisive moment".

Mt. Currie is just 10 minutes east of Pemberton, and is primarily a native
reserve (pop. around 800), supported by some farming & ranching.  Logging
used to be a big part of the area, but today, not so much.

The Lil'wat people are very active in reviving their language and culture,
which explains the big Pow Wow that accompanies the rodeo.

If we go again, we'll stay overnight and make it a good "go" of both the Pow
Wow and the rodeo.  But that is for another year.

I trust this answers your question.

David.

Great, clear, and perfectly caught - David! Well done, sir!

I just pulled up the map and found Mt Currie, the town, off to the west
from you there in Logan Lake. What's the source of income in the area
for those folks? Mining and timber, or is it something else?

G'Mornin' fellow Flexers!

Rose and I spent our Sunday over in Mt. Currie, watching their local
rodeo.

We were most surprised to find no bareback nor saddle bronc events and
no bulldoggin'.

OTOH, between Jr. Steers and Bulls, they had 22 riders vying for the
prize money.  The final score?  Riders, 1. Bulls, 21.

But Bill Abbott will be pleased, for all but one of the riders wore a
helmet.

Here's one fellow, leaving by the side door...

He was the only injury of the day.  The bull fighters got the bull
away from him, but he broke his arm, when he hit the ground.

Comments appreciated, as always.
