The are most helpful. > Question is, why these scenes in particular, they > could be any lake, Indeed, they could. As you might imagine, there is a story here. Derek, my contact with the town (and a very nice, young chap), found an image on the internet, which he loved and which would be perfect for the job. However, when he contacted Getty Images, they quoted him $15,000 for billboard rights only, for 5 years. Not knowing the value of a good image, he was expecting $25 to $50!! I became involved because (a) the town fathers won't pay Getty Images' price (I don't work for free, but I work for a lot less than Getty's price!), (b) he wants images he can use for any purpose, at any time, as he chooses ... Getty's rights package is for the billboard only; and (c) the "fathers" want the image to be of Logan Lake, itself, even though you are correct that nobody would ever know the difference. BTW: Those panoramic crops are a requirement of the 10'x30' (roughly 3x10 meter) size of the billboards. I was out, this morning, re-taking the third image, in accordance with other, off-line comments/advice. These have not yet been processed, but I will post something if anything comes of them. Thanks, so much, Eric, for your thoughtful insights. Cheers!
