Richard,The last 28-70/3.5 ROM lens was ok. None of the 28-70 zooms were spectacular at all. The Best Leica`standard zoom by far is the 28-90 asph (discounting the rare and spectacularly expensive 35-70/2.8). It is a truly excellent design and performs as well some of the prime lenses. The latest 35070/4 ROM lens is very good too and probably the best value standard zoom. If you have the cash, buy the 28-90, it's stunning. If money is tight after Christmas, buy the latest 35-70/4.
Most of the Goodwood people and car shots on my website were taken on the 28-90 asph. Do have a look, if it helps.

Hello to all!I am new to this forum but excited to interact. These have probably been discussed before but are there must have R lenses that are outstanding for its bokeh and leica glow? I have some lenses but ready to purchase additional ones. I am interested in a zoom in the 28-70 range. Are the Solms made lenses that much better than the Japanese ones?
