chris (hoping not bother other no italy involved friends),

your knowledge about tuscany is great indeed.
yes the pass is called olmo and i remember to have been up there (monte
give) about 21 years ago to greet my last day before my wedding (...) with
some friends to walk and eat very good bistecca!

the lake area is just in south area of sesto fiorentino, just before campi
bisenzio, in the osmannoro site.

very unfortunately many of the morello trees were cut down for a lot of
"reasons", mostly just invented to have the right to take them in firenze
and build, for instance, the under roof of palazzo vecchio. but i have to
say that i love that monte!

in the latest weeks i often drive to monte gennaro, the road from calenzano
to le croci di barberino, then turning right for la chiusa and legri (btw,
my parents homevillages). after legri you have to keep drive for about 3 km,
then you have to stop your car and have a walk for about 3/4 an hour. in
front of you you'll see the third of morello tops, on your left the monte
senario (hope you know it! i also like a lot go there where i shot a lot of
my photo last year and published in my leicagallery site) and the mugello
area behind you.
in the clear september air is a fantastic place to go. i use to be there
around 9 am and remain there for a fast lunch (panini).
and how about the astounding senario terrace? almost all tuscany is seeable.
btw: being no leica photo (nikon coolpix) , my morello pictures are here:

ciao!
