Jerry, The DMR does have a thin IR filter in front of the sensor, this is = possible because of the much larger distance from the last lens element = and the sensor due to the space required for the mirror. In the M series, some of the lenses have only a few millimeters of = clearance to the shutter curtain, so there really wasn't space for the = IR filter to be put in.
