I think you have an original Tamron implementation of
the 3rd cam
designed exclusively for the R3. The R4 is actually 4
cams because the pusher has 2 cams on it. Almost all
Leitz R 3cam lenses are fully compatible on the R 4
but it's possible that other adapted leses don't.
Also, the aperture on the tamron may not be linear as
it is on all R4 lenses that are fully compatible. (The
old 180 Elmarit R isn't and even when 3 cammed can
only be used in
M A or a.
