Hi Bill,
I based my observation regarding a certain softness to fine detail on those 
parts of each image closest to the camera because Sea Air makes a wonderfully 
awesome detail smearer all by itself :). In all honesty, my first thought was 
that the X2 hadnt focused on infinity quite right, but it seemed more likely 
it's CMOS imaging sensor might be the culprit via a strong Anti-Aliasing. That 
is, if I wasn't seeing the results of a posted jpeg failing to convey the 
source file well.

Then again, maybe I am skewed to judge far to harshly after seeing far to many 
test shots lately researching a plethora of camera lenses. Too much 
pixelpeeping rots the brain! :-D

And I still am jealous of that view!
