Warbirds at the Pacific Coast Dream Machines show

The last Sunday in April usually dawns clear in northern California, even on the coast. That's the time for the one-day Pacific Coast Dream Machines show, a fundraiser for Coastside Adult Day Health Center. Clear weather made skies photographically challenging for this year's event.

The show features World War II-era airplanes, along with some vintage automobiles and steam engines. A Mitsubishi A6M Zero, a couple P-51D Mustangs, a DC-3, an F6F Hellcat, and a T-33 Shooting star all appeared and flew. While the aircraft were the focus, aircrew and airplane fans added the essential human element:
