Dear Advocates,
Please see the below information and attached flyer for Saturday's Immigration
Resource Fair:
The Immigration Resource Fair is THIS Saturday, May 7, from 1-5 pm at St.
Stephen Lutheran Church (8400 France Ave. MPLS). The focus of the event is on
immigration and domestic violence as it intersects with immigration issues. The
event will be held in the parking lot, weather permitting, and inside St.
Stephen if it rains.
There will be a brief welcome speech from Maria Reagan Gonzalez, the first
Latina mayor in Minnesota and mayor of Richfield, at the start of the event.
Two Know Your Rights presentations will be given (1:30 & 3:30) and pro bono
attorneys will be there to answer informational questions, screen for intake,
and refer attendees.
The intent is for this to be a safe space for everyone, including those who are
undocumented. Though we will specifically focus on immigration remedies and
relief for domestic violence survivors, this event (including the know your
rights presentations and 1:1 immigration screenings) is open to all
individuals, regardless of immigration status or whether they have experienced
DV in the past.
